Who we are

The main goal of the Women Interaction Group is to consolidate women’s roles and capabilities in the Somaliland community through enhancing their social, political, economic and cultural participation. WIAG conducts trainings, Micro-Credit, seminars, conferences and domestic workshops that foster an exchange of information and experience among MWIAG Women in Somaliland continue to suffer disproportionally from clan fights. The continuation of practices, such as polygamy, early and forced marriage, FGM, and wife inheritance
undermines the realization of women’s empowerment and gender equality. Barriers to vital services such as education and health-or a lack of access to agricultural production or other livelihoods and employment opportunities have kept most women in Somaliland
disempowered. We Focus: Community / Customary
